We're working in partnership with one of the UK's leading Tier 1 contractors to recruit an experienced Bid Manager to join their thriving Exeter office. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in securing a diverse portfolio of framework led projects across Devon and Cornwall, ranging from complex refurbishments to landmark new build developments.
This is a busy, collaborative office with a healthy pipeline of negotiated and framework opportunities. You'll be at the heart of the pre-construction team, leading bids from initial enquiry through to submission and helping secure projects that genuinely shape local communities.
The Role
As Bid Manager, you'll take ownership of the entire bid process, coordinating internal teams and external stakeholders to produce compelling, high quality submissions that consistently exceed client expectations.
Working closely with operational, commercial and technical teams, you'll ensure every submission clearly demonstrates value, innovation and the contractor's ability to successfully deliver complex construction projects.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Leading multiple bids simultaneously from PQQ through to final submission.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary bid teams including Pre Construction, Design, Commercial, Planning and Operational colleagues.
- Managing programme deadlines and ensuring all submissions are completed to the highest standard.
- Developing winning bid strategies tailored to each client and framework.
- Facilitating bid workshops, review meetings and interview preparation.
- Producing engaging written content that clearly communicates technical solutions and added value.
- Maintaining bid libraries and continuously improving submission quality and processes.
- Building strong relationships with framework partners, consultants and internal stakeholders.

Experience working within a main contractor environment on public sector or framework projects would be highly advantageous, although we're equally interested in individuals looking to transition into a dedicated bid leadership role.
