CNC Setter/Programmer – CNC Lathes (Fanuc Controlled)

Are you an experienced CNC Setter/Programmer looking for a clean, well-organised, and supportive manufacturing environment? We are partnering with a respected local engineering firm to find a talented machinist to join their growing team.
The Opportunity
You will be working in a modern, well-maintained facility where precision and quality are at the heart of production. This role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to work with advanced CNC machinery while developing your skills further.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC lathes (Fanuc controlled) to produce precision-engineered parts.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and job orders to determine specifications.
- Inspect workpieces for accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
- Select and install tools, setting feed rates, cutting speeds, and depths.
- Program CNC machinery using Fanuc controls (programming experience desirable but not essential).
- Troubleshoot and maintain machines to optimise production.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures and maintain high standards of quality.
- Support and train other team members when required.
Skills and Experience
- Proven CNC setting experience on turning machinery.
- Fanuc control knowledge essential.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow production procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and teamwork.
- Manual milling, lathe, or grinding experience is an advantage.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and committed to quality and safety.
Package
- Salary: Up to £32,488 (£16 per hour).
- Hours: 39 per week
- Mon–Wed: 07:30–16:30
- Thurs: 07:30–16:00
- Fri: 07:30–13:00
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (14 days allocated to summer and Christmas shutdowns).
- Overtime paid at time and a half.
