The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will lead all commercial functions on multiple projects, from tender stage through to final account. Working closely with our project teams, clients, and supply chain partners, you will ensure projects are delivered profitably, on time, and in line with contractual and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commercial strategy and execution across multiple civil engineering projects
- Monthly reporting to the board
- Oversee cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Negotiate and manage contracts, variations, and claims
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions (NEC, JCT, etc.)
- Support tender submissions and business development initiatives
- Collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior QS within the civil engineering or construction sector
- Strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract (NEC, JCT)
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field
- Professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, etc.) is desirable
