COST CONSULTANT / SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Bristol | £50,000 – £70,000 + Package
Kingston Barnes is working exclusively with a leading multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy looking to strengthen its Cost Management team in Bristol.
This is a little different to the typical consultancy QS position.
We’re looking for someone who wants to be project-led, client-facing and trusted to deliver their own commissions, working across a varied portfolio of construction projects throughout Bristol and the wider South West.
You'll be joining an established business with an excellent reputation, strong regional presence and an impressive pipeline of work across multiple sectors.
THE ROLE
Working as a Cost Consultant / Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take responsibility for your own projects from inception through to completion, operating as the key commercial contact for the client.
The workload will be varied and could see you working across commercial, residential, education, healthcare, leisure, infrastructure and major development schemes.
Your role will include:
- Cost planning and estimating
- Procurement and tender management
- Pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying
- Contract administration
- Valuations, variations and final accounts
- Cost reporting, forecasting and risk management
- Value engineering and commercial advice
- Working directly with clients, contractors and wider project teams
- Taking ownership of projects and delivering them independently
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We're interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors, Cost Consultants and Senior Quantity Surveyors from a construction consultancy/PQS background.
You’ll ideally be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, with experience delivering projects independently and confidence dealing directly with clients.
MRICS would be advantageous, but isn't essential. Someone working towards Chartership with the ambition to progress would be equally interesting.
More importantly, we're looking for someone commercially astute, personable and capable of taking ownership rather than simply forming part of a large project team.
WHY CONSIDER IT?
This is an opportunity to join a recognised, multi-disciplinary consultancy without getting lost in the machine.
You'll have autonomy over your workload, exposure to an excellent variety of projects and clients, and the backing of a wider team covering Cost Management, Project Management, Building Surveying and Advisory services.
There's also genuine scope to progress as the Bristol operation continues to develop.
