Hours: Monday–Friday (Early/Late Rotating Shifts) + Occasional Saturday

The Role: Day Fuel Reception Operative
As a key member of the Shift Team, you will take primary responsibility for fuel reception activities at the ERF and support operational efficiency across other plant areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage traffic flow and waste deliveries within the fuel reception area
- Operate heavy plant, including:
- CAT316
- 17-tonne 360 excavator
- Loading shovels (hired in as needed)
- Forklift trucks (approx. 15% of the role)
- Overhead cranes and additional machinery as required
- Monitor and manage waste movements, particularly during peak periods
- Perform weighbridge operations and routine plant checks
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across the site, including Tipping Hall management
- Adhere to ERF procedures and safety protocols at all times
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience operating mobile plant (background in construction preferred over engineering)
- Lifting/slinging, plant, or FLT certification (desirable)
- Understanding of safe systems of work: permits, risk assessments, and safety documentation
- Engineering, Technical, or Operational qualifications (desirable)
- Strong logical thinking and effective problem-solving skills
Package & Benefits:
Working Pattern
- Week 1: 06:30 – 15:00
- Week 2: 10:30 – 19:00
- 1 Saturday every 7 weeks: 06:30 – 15:00
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: £40,000
- Annual Bonus: Up to 10%
