EC&I Technician – Mitcham

Working Pattern: Days with occasional call-outs / shift flexibility
Are you an experienced EC&I Technician ready to take on a dynamic role within a high-performing engineering team? This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-value systems where your skills directly impact plant performance, safety, and uptime.
We’re supporting a major industrial site in the Mitcham area looking to bring on board an Electric, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising a wide range of electrical and control systems.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of electrical and instrumentation systems
- Installation and calibration of pressure, level, flow and temperature sensors
- Diagnosing faults on PLC, SCADA, and DCS control systems (Omron experience a plus)
- Maintaining motors, switchgear, power distribution systems, and associated equipment
- Supporting project upgrades, plant shutdowns and commissioning work
- Ensuring documentation is up to date – loop diagrams, wiring schematics, calibration records
- Responding to emergency breakdowns and supporting 24/7 operations when needed
- Promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with industry standards
What We’re Looking For:
- NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation Engineering
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
- Solid knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Omron), SCADA and field instrumentation
- Experience working in sectors such as power generation, heavy industry, water treatment, or oil & gas
- Competent with electrical/instrumentation drawings and fault-finding tools
- Familiarity with ATEX/hazardous area regulations beneficial
You’ll Be A Great Fit If You:
- Have at least 4 years in a similar EC&I or multi-skilled electrical maintenance role
- Are comfortable working at height, in confined spaces, or in regulated industrial environments
- Have a proactive mindset, take pride in delivering high standards, and enjoy solving technical problems
- Can work both independently and as part of a wider engineering/maintenance team
