Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Yate, South Gloucestershire
Salary: £49,908
Shift Pattern: Quad Shift (14 shifts over 28 days – Days & Nights)

Our client is a well-established and respected manufacturer of food packaging products, serving a wide range of customers across Europe. With multiple sites in the UK, including Yate, Bridgwater, and Aylesham, they specialise in plastic thermoforming and extrusion processes to deliver innovative and high-impact packaging solutions.
The Yate facility focuses on thermoforming processes and is an integral part of the company’s UK operations.
The Role
We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team based in Yate. You will work alongside a small team consisting of a Mechanical Engineer and a Maintenance Supervisor to ensure machinery uptime and reliability across the site’s production lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical maintenance and repair of process and forming machinery
- Fault finding on electrical systems including 3-phase motors, inverters, drives, and single-phase equipment
- Supporting with PLC fault finding (basic level)
- Working efficiently under pressure and to tight production deadlines
- Ensuring all work is completed in compliance with health and safety standards
- Reporting directly to the Site Manager
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Background in electrical maintenance within manufacturing or a similar environment
- Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship and relevant qualifications
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with 3-phase systems and control panels
- Comfortable working in a production environment (can be noisy, PPE required)
Desirable:
- 18th Edition wiring regulations
- Experience supporting basic PLC fault finding
- Strong awareness of mechanical systems
Shift Pattern
Quad Shift Rotation (12-hour shifts – Days & Nights):
- Week 1: Mon–Thurs (Nights), Fri–Sun off
- Week 2: Mon–Wed (Days), Thurs off, Fri–Sun (Nights)
- Week 3: Mon–Tues (Days), Wed off, Thurs–Sun (Days)
- Week 4: Full week off
Holiday Entitlement
- Year 1: 21 days
- Year 2: 22 days
- Year 3+: 23 days
