Are you an Electronics Engineer with a passion for fault finding and component-level repair? Do you enjoy getting hands-on with complex electronic systems and want to work in the growing renewable energy sector?
We're recruiting on behalf of an established and expanding engineering business that specialises in the repair and maintenance of electronic equipment used within the renewable energy industry. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add an Electronics Engineer to their skilled technical team.
The Role
Working as part of a close-knit engineering team, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and testing electronic equipment at component level. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed electronics work and wants to develop their career within a specialist engineering environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing faults and repairing electronic circuit boards and components.
- Carrying out component-level soldering, desoldering and PCB repairs.
- Reading and interpreting circuit diagrams and technical drawings.
- Testing repaired equipment to ensure performance and reliability.
- Maintaining accurate repair records and documentation.
- Supporting continuous improvement and helping develop new repair techniques.
- Liaising with customers or internal stakeholders when required regarding repair progress.
The Candidate
We're looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about electronics and enjoys solving technical problems.
Ideally you'll have:
- Practical experience in electronics repair or electronic design.
- Strong soldering skills and experience working on PCB assemblies.
- A logical and methodical approach to fault finding.
- The ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team.
Desirable experience includes:
- HNC (or equivalent) in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
- Industrial electronics experience.
- Previous experience repairing inverters or renewable energy equipment.
Applications are welcomed from engineers with strong electronics repair experience even if you haven't previously worked on inverter systems, as full product training will be provided.
What's on Offer
- Salary of £35,000-£45,000, depending on experience.
- Monday-Friday days:
- Monday-Thursday: 8:00am-5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am-4:00pm
- 28 days annual leave, including Bank Holidays.
