Machine Setter / Operator (Late Shift)
Full-Time | 38 Hours per Week| Cheltenham
Late shift: Monday to Thursday- 2:00pm – 11:30pm
Base salary: £30,000 – £35,000 Shift allowance: 12% (increasing to 21% from June) Total package: £36,300 – £42,350
We are currently recruiting for a Machine Setter / Operator to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with CNC experience looking to develop their skills in a supportive, high-quality production environment.
The Role
Working on a late shift, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machine centres, including lathes and/or mill-turn machines, ensuring components are produced to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting and operating CNC lathes and milling machines
- Producing components in line with engineering drawings
- Carrying out deburring, cleaning, and packaging in line with procedures
- Performing quality inspections using gauges, verniers, and micrometers
- Working to SOPs, production targets, and maintenance standards
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness
- Adhering to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Assisting with training of colleagues where required
- Taking ownership of personal development and demonstrating company values
About You
- Previous CNC operating experience (essential)
- Experience using measuring equipment (desirable)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and CNC programmes (desirable)
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Manufacturing (desirable)
- Understanding of a fast-paced production environment and its commercial impact
- A flexible and proactive approach to work
