Then get in touch! Kingston Barnes are recruiting a manufacturing engineer for a client of ours in the Bristol area.
The Role:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing and optimising production methods to support high-quality aerospace manufacturing. You'll work cross-functionally to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure that manufacturing processes meet the highest industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and refine manufacturing processes for aerospace components
- Create 3D models and CNC programs using CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks and SolidCAM)
- Troubleshoot and resolve production challenges on the shop floor
- Specify and maintain tooling, jigs, fixtures, and equipment
- Lead continuous improvement and Lean initiatives
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other aerospace regulations
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and process transfer projects
The Candidate:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role, ideally in aerospace
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, CAD/CAM (SolidWorks & SolidCAM preferred), and manufacturing techniques
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
- Quality-focused mindset with a drive for Right First Time production
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, quality, and production teams
- HNC or equivalent in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen
- Familiarity with industry compliance and IP protection
Benefits:
- Salary up to £45,000
- 37-hour week: Monday–Thursday 07:30–16:00, Friday 07:30–12:30
