Mechanical Fitter (3-Month Contract – Potential to Go Permanent)

The Role
We're seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join the team on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential to transition into a permanent position. This is a workshop-based role ideal for someone with hands-on mechanical experience and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical assembly of engineered components (pre-final assembly)
- Bolting and aligning iron components
- Grinding using hand tools
- Conducting hydrostatic pressure testing
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Mechanical assembly or fitting background
- Good understanding of hand tools and workshop practices
- Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- Pump experience is not essential – training will be provided
Package:
- Hours: Monday–Thursday, 08:15–16:45; Friday, 08:15–13:45 (37.5 hours/week)
- Pay: £15.38 per hour / Equivalent to £30,000 annually
