Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Brislington, Bristol
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 DOE + Bonus + Overtime + Call Out

The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join a busy engineering team, supporting both planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdowns across a range of manufacturing machinery.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys fault-finding, continuous improvement, and working as part of a collaborative site-based engineering function.
Key Responsibilities
- Planned and reactive maintenance of production machinery
- Mechanical fault-finding with electrical support where required
- Maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Fabrication and welding work (advantageous)
- Supporting machinery upgrades and improvements
- Working in line with site Health & Safety procedures
- Participation in a paid call-out rota
About You
- Time-served, multi-skilled engineer with a mechanical bias
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills with electrical knowledge
- Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Understanding of PLC systems, control gear, and 3-phase power
- Fabrication / welding experience preferred
- Health & Safety conscious
- A strong team player with good communication skills
- Ideally based locally to Bristol
- Full UK driving licence
Shifts & Hours
- Day Shift – Monday to Friday
- 39 hours per week
- Monday–Thursday: 07:00–15:30
- Friday: 07:00–14:30
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Call Out & Overtime
- Call out rota: 1 in 4 weeks (paid)
- Standby rates:
- Weekdays: £20.80 per day
- Weekend (8 hours): £60.85
- Weekend (12 hours): £91.27
- Call out payments:
- Minimum 3 hours paid at time and a half
- Weekend call out & overtime paid at double time
Package & Benefits
- Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (DOE)
- Sales Performance Bonus: 5% of salary (pro-rata, performance dependent)
