Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer- Elec Bias

Salary: Up to £46,500 per annum

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team at a modern manufacturing site in Yeovil. Working a double days shift pattern, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of electrical and mechanical equipment across production, utilities, and building services.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical service, repair, and replacement of motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics, seals, and couplings
- Electrical fault-finding, service, and repair of motors, sensors, valves, control gear, VSDs, servos, instrumentation, power distribution, and safety systems
- Setting, testing, measuring, adjusting, and calibrating electrical and mechanical equipment
- Completing root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions
- Identifying suitable parts and spares and supporting stock control alongside the parts coordinator
- Providing technical support to production operators
- Supporting engineering projects, new installations, and equipment commissioning
- Maintaining control measurement and weighing equipment
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
- Making improvement recommendations to increase plant availability, quality, and safety
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Engineering
- Experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment
- Building services experience (boilers, air handling plant, refrigeration)
- Experience working with CMMS systems
- Exposure to packaging machinery and complex control systems
Skills & Capabilities
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Proven root cause analysis experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Welding experience preferred (TIG and Arc)
- Knowledge of maintenance methodologies including PPM, CBM, PM, and TBM
