Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (x3)
Location: Yate
Salary: Up to £57,700 (Depending on experience)
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (2 Days and 2 Nights)

The Role
We are currently recruiting for three Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join a fast-paced manufacturing site in Yate.
Working as part of a multi-skilled engineering team, you will be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across production lines and site equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring maximum equipment reliability and minimal downtime.
This position requires strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across both electrical and mechanical systems, as well as a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities to a high standard
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on production equipment
- Support continuous improvement by implementing long-term engineering solutions
- Work closely with production teams to prioritise breakdowns and minimise downtime
- Ensure all plant and equipment is maintained to maximise reliability and performance
- Accurately record maintenance activities using SAP (training provided)
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements
- Maintain accurate stock control of parts and materials
- Contribute to key engineering KPIs including downtime reduction and equipment efficiency
- Provide flexibility to support shift cover and overtime where required
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a multi-skilled maintenance engineering role within manufacturing
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills (electrically biased preferred)
- Good mechanical knowledge, including maintenance of moving parts and production machinery
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
- Experience using CMMS systems (SAP desirable)
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexible, proactive, and adaptable approach
Qualifications (Desirable)
- NVQ Level 3 or apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- HNC or HND in Engineering
Salary Structure
Depending on qualifications and experience:
- Level 1: £45,000
- Level 2: £50,500
- Fully Qualified Engineer: £57,700
Shift Pattern
- 4 shifts on:
- 2 x 12-hour day shifts (6:00am – 6:00pm)
- 2 x 12-hour night shifts (6:00pm – 6:00am)
- Followed by 4 shifts off
- Pattern repeats for 7 cycles
- Followed by an 18-day break before repeating (Due to this, this means no holiday allowance, but you are made aware of your 18 Day breaks in advance)
Additional flexibility:
- Shift swaps available between engineers
- Typically no requirement to work Christmas Day, although some on-call cover may be required over the Christmas period
