Production Supervisor
Location: Severn Beach, Bristol
Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 + 17% shift allowance (£44,460 – £49,140)

The Company
Our client is a global, high-technology manufacturing organisation operating at the forefront of micro- and nano-engineering. Their products support industries ranging from advanced medical technologies and semiconductors to electric vehicles and next-generation computing. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Value Stream Team Leader to join their production leadership team.
The Role
This is a key production leadership position responsible for leading a shift-based value stream within a high-complexity, low-volume manufacturing environment. You will oversee production and test activities, manage and develop technical staff, and ensure operational targets are met across safety, quality, cost, delivery and productivity.
Working closely with other Value Stream Leaders and reporting into the Value Stream Manager, you will play a vital role in deploying business strategy, driving continuous improvement, and embedding Lean manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a shift-based value stream production team
- Coach, develop and performance-manage technicians and technical staff
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean methodologies
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards
- Represent the value stream to customers and external visitors
- Support audits and the maintenance of external accreditations
- Contribute to manufacturing strategy, policies and best-practice processes
- Support new business initiatives and manufacturing projects
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Quality and Engineering teams
- Promote a culture of engagement, accountability and high performance
About You
You will be an experienced Production Supervisor / Team Leader from an engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally mechanical or electronics assembly.
Essential / Desired Experience:
- Proven experience leading and developing production or technical teams
- Background in engineering, manufacturing or assembly (mechanical/electronics)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes within a high-tech environment
- Confident decision-maker with excellent people leadership skills
- Proactive, adaptable and open to new ways of working
- Strong planning, organisational and IT skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and contribute at management level
Qualifications (Advantageous):
- Engineering degree, relevant apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- Lean Green Belt or equivalent
Shift Pattern
- Standard hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 8:30am – 1:00pm
- Lates (every 6–8 weeks, for 2 weeks):
- Monday–Thursday: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- Friday: 12:00pm – 5:00pm
- 30-minute unpaid meal break + two 15-minute refreshment breaks
