Quality Engineer
Location: Bridgwater (with flexible home working options)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm (Monday–Thursday), 8:30am – 3:00pm (Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent | Full-Time
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a growing engineering team at a well-established manufacturing business in Bridgwater. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional looking to take ownership of quality assurance and continuous improvement activities, with clear progression toward quality management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes in line with ISO 9001:2015
- Conduct inspections, audits, and reporting across the production lifecycle
- Develop and manage test protocols and quality documentation
- Investigate non-conformances, analyse data, and drive corrective actions
- Work cross-functionally to deliver continuous improvement projects
- Manage and support supplier quality activities and external evaluations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including manuals and SOPs
- Support occasional UK and international travel to subcontractor or supplier sites
About You:
- Proven experience in a quality engineering or similar role within a manufacturing or technical environment
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent problem-solving tools
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently and across departments
- Willingness to travel as required
Package & Benefits:
- Salary of £40,000 – £45,000, depending on experience
