Job Title: Stock Controller (Purchasing Assistant)
Location: Yatton, North Somerset
Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 (DOE)

- Mon–Thurs: 8:30am–5:00pm
- Fri: 8:30am–4:00pm
Company Overview:
A fast-growing UK manufacturer supplying bespoke extrusions to the construction, engineering, and manufacturing sectors. The business operates across two main divisions: Extrusion and Thermal Bridging/Paint Line/Machining.
The Role:
You’ll support stock control and purchasing for over 2,000 lines, ensuring accurate stock levels, smooth supplier relationships, and timely product availability. Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, you'll also support new product launches and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage stock levels using ERP and replenishment systems
- Order from UK, European, and global suppliers
- Investigate stock discrepancies and run regular stock counts
- Maintain accurate ERP records (costing, pricing, BOMs)
- Resolve delivery issues, invoice queries & quality returns
- Liaise with R&D on new product launches
- Analyse slow/aged stock and improve supply processes
- Collaborate with planning, sales, and production teams
Requirements:
Essential:
- Purchasing & stock control experience (not warehouse-based)
- Background in manufacturing
- ERP system knowledge
- Familiar with supply chain terms (BOM, ROP, EOQ, lead times)
- Excel skills: VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, charts, data handling
- Strong attention to detail & problem-solving skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communicator & team player
