The Opportunity:
Structural Project Engineer with a minimum of 3years’ to a senior level of 10+ years’ experience in performing detailed structural design and analysis and structural inspections independently for all types of projects is required by a multi-disciplinary consultancy in Bristol. You will be experienced in using computer modelling packages such as TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer (or similar packages). In order to be considered for this opportunity it is essential that you have a minimum of an Engineering degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) and desirable to have Chartered status.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed structural design and analysis independently
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other designers
- Responsible for calculations and computer models for building structures in different structural forms and all traditional building materials, including masonry, reinforced concrete, steel and timber.
- Project running
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
- Experience of preparing design calculations and assessment calculations, drawings, reports and contract documents;
- Able to successfully communicate with suppliers, clients, contractors, the public and other engineers within the company.
- Responsible for client interaction and maintaining project schedules where required.
- Familiar with Health & Safety, environmental and managerial procedures
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 3 to 10+ years’ UK industry experience or equivalent
- Chartered (CEng) or actively working toward Chartership with ICE or IStructE.
- Proficiency in industry-specific software such as TEDDS and Tekla Structural Designer for general building structures projects.
- Take leadership roles in managing large projects as required.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of structural designs
- Supervise and mentor younger engineers and teams as required, dependent on experience
