Kingston Barnes is working exclusively with a highly regarded regional main contractor to appoint an experienced Commercial Director for its Bristol operation.
The business delivers projects valued up to £40 million across commercial new build, refurbishment, fit out, cut and carve, residential and façade projects.
This is a key leadership appointment with responsibility for the commercial performance of the region. Reporting to the Regional Director, you will lead the commercial team, protect profitability and help shape the continued growth of the business.
The Role
You will provide commercial leadership across the full project lifecycle, from pre construction and contract negotiation through to delivery and final account.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the regional commercial team
- Managing commercial performance across multiple live projects
- Overseeing financial reporting, forecasting and cash management
- Identifying and mitigating contractual and commercial risk
- Ensuring robust commercial processes and governance
- Reviewing project performance and presenting reports at board level
- Supporting tenders, contract negotiations and new project opportunities
- Overseeing subcontractor procurement and supply chain performance
- Managing commercial audits and ensuring contractual compliance
- Working closely with operational teams to protect margins and achieve successful project outcomes
About You
You will be an accomplished commercial leader with extensive experience working for a main contractor.
You are likely to be operating as a Commercial Director, Regional Commercial Manager or Commercial Manager and ready to take on greater strategic responsibility.
You will bring:
- A strong track record across major construction projects
- Excellent financial, contractual and risk management expertise
- Experience leading and developing commercial teams
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial governance
- The ability to challenge, influence and support senior stakeholders
