Kingston Barnes is recruiting an experienced and proactive Office Manager to join a leading regional building contractor in Bristol.
Our client is a highly respected construction business with an excellent reputation for delivering complex, high-quality projects. With a growing regional team of approximately 30–50 employees, they are looking for someone to take ownership of the smooth running of their Bristol office.
This is a varied, people-focused position that goes far beyond traditional administration.
You'll be the central point of contact for office operations, helping to coordinate communication between site-based teams, office staff and senior management, whilst creating a welcoming, organised and professional working environment.
The Role
As Office Manager, you'll play an integral part in supporting the wider business, ensuring employees have everything they need and that the office runs efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Office Management: Overseeing the day-to-day running of the regional office, including facilities, supplies, equipment and general administration.
-
Front of House: Welcoming visitors, clients and contractors, managing incoming enquiries and maintaining a professional reception environment.
-
Staff Support: Acting as a central point of contact for employees, helping resolve day-to-day queries and coordinating internal requirements.
-
Onboarding: Supporting new starters with inductions, equipment, documentation, office access and introductions to the wider team.
-
Internal Communication: Helping coordinate information between site teams, office-based employees and regional management.
-
Meetings & Facilities: Managing meeting rooms, bookings, diaries, refreshments and facilities for internal and external meetings.
-
Events & Engagement: Organising staff events, team activities, meetings and company functions.
-
Administration: Supporting senior management with correspondence, reporting, documentation and general business administration.
-
Suppliers & Procurement: Managing office suppliers, ordering consumables and coordinating maintenance contractors.
-
Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve office processes, communication and employee experience as the business grows.
About You
We're looking for a confident, organised and personable individual who enjoys being at the heart of a busy business.
You'll be someone who takes initiative, builds relationships naturally and thrives on making things happen.
Ideally, you'll have:
-
Previous experience as an Office Manager, Office Coordinator, Office Administrator or similar.
-
Experience within construction, engineering, property or a related industry would be highly desirable.
-
Experience supporting operational or site-based teams alongside office employees.
-
Strong organisational and communication skills.
-
Experience coordinating meetings, events, facilities and office operations.
-
A good understanding of employee onboarding and general staff administration.
-
Confidence dealing with senior management, clients, suppliers and contractors.
-
Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
-
A proactive, flexible and hands-on approach.
You don't necessarily need to have worked in construction, but an understanding of how a busy, project-led business operates would be a real advantage.
What's on Offer?
-
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 depending on experience.
-
Package: Competitive company benefits.
-
Location: Bristol.
-
Hours: Full time, permanent.
